Roamer Case and Dial from the Rhodesian War of the 1960\'s. The numbers on the back ZA3536 Was a way to keep track of who it was issued to.

TheRoamer Military Watch Story
Years ago I purchased a large lot of Roamer watch parts from England where aRoamer Repair Company thatrepaired the Roamer watches that had problemsand these were the watches issued to the army fighting in Rhodesia during theuprising of the 1960\'s/70\'s. I would guess that after the fighting ended therewas no need for this company to continue so I was able to purchase all theirstock. For some years now I have taken the best dials, best cases and movementsand had my watchmaker service them. I have run into problems getting moreoriginal crystals, hands and some other parts but I still have hundreds ofparts to continue making fine mostly original watches that were actually usedin the conflict. Each one has the stamp number on the case back like RA forRhodesia, ZA, SFA for South Africa and so on. This was a way to keep track ofwho the watch was issued to and some have more than one number so guess theywere issued more than once. At one time someone was going to try to determinejust how many of these were made and I furnished all the hundreds of numbers Ihad at that time but I have not seen the exact number as of yet. Anyway this isa piece of history and this watch is markedZA3536 on the back. I sure donot mean to be rude but this is what they are and they are used but still verynice.
