Rare Ww1 Pilot's Self-portrait And Air Strikes Artillery Shell Trench Art For Sale
You are offerding on a vintage a WW1 pilot's self-portrait and tally of air strikes in the form of an artillery shell trench art piece. I found this shell in the deep dark corners of a garage at an estate sale in San Francisco's Mission District. I have not cleaned or polished this shell because I prefer to leave items in as close to the condition that I find them in whenever possible. This is truly a rare peek into the history of a soldier who served our country during WW1. The length of this shell is about 12 inches and its width is about 2.5 inches. The shell shows the upper body of the soldier with large caliber bullets draped over his shoulders.
