Rare General Eisenhower's D-Day famous D-Day speech. SHAEF (Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force) headed message, printed signature - Dwight Eisenhower; as originally handed out to troops June 5th,1945 the eve of D-Day. This is the actual letter handed out to my father in law, just before the D-Day invasion! He carried it with him throughout the war. When he felt hopeless, he would pull out this letter and read Eisenhowers words, and it helped him get thru the many battles. This item was brought home at the end of WWII by my father-in-law, who carefully stored it in a box, inside his house until now. He was a Private 1st Class in the Army Infantry serving from 1941 to 1945. He participated in the D-Day Invasion landing on Omaha Beach. He survived without being wounded! He is 93 year sold and is going into a nursing home, and I will be listing other war-related that I find in his home.

The item measures 8" high by approx. 5-1/4" wide.

There are many facsimiles existing and printed copies of this famous speech. but an original copy, as this one that was given out on eve of D-Day to troops are very hard to come by and are highly collectable and sought after.

These are hard to find, and the only one I was able to compare to, just sold here on for over $240!

CONDITON:

This item has wear. It had been folded up, and is yellowed, and there is a small tear in the center fold line. My father-in-law wrote on the top: "Speech before we left for invasion of France Normandy by Eisenhower". Some writing on back and light soil. It had been carried thru the war, so it is delicate.
