This sale is for a WWII US Theater Made Quality Made Fighting Knife that is heavy duty with a 7 1/2\" spear oint blade and a piece cast aluminum handle and guard. The overall length is 12\". The aluminum casting is of high quality with no flaws. The leather sheath is well-made and is riveted and sewn. The blade is inscribed, \"Walter S. Sousley\" and the scabbard is marked, \"W.S.S./35625848\". I have been told there was a Sousley who was one of the Flag raisers on Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima. The condition both the knife and scabbard is very good. References are: M.H. Cole, Book IV, page 189 and Bill Wright, THEATER MADE MILITARY KNIVES OF WWII, p. 15.Please contact me if you have any questions.
