Rare Ww1 Austria Pow Russian Officer Uniform Visor Cap:
YOU ARE offerDING ON A RARE RUSSIAN WW1 ERA FIELD UNIFORM OF AN OFFICER WHO ESCAPED FROM AN AUSTRIAN POW CAMP.
The uniform consists of a khaki visor cap and a matching gimnasterka tunic.
1. WW1 era Officer's field visor cap. Made of khaki colored wool with leather visor painted green on the outside. Leather sweatband and green cotton liner. Russian Imperial Army's Officer's cockade. Size 57, Very good original condition, though showing some wear.
2. Officer's WW1 era field gimnasterka tunic. With two breast pockets with flaps . Other buttons are metal with Russian Imperial eagles stamped with manufacturer's name "Kopeikin, St. Petersburg." Green field shoulder boards have one thin stripe and one star indicating rank of Sub-Lieutenant. The right sleeve has a very rare elaborately designed shoulder patch consisting of a Russian Imperial Flag surrounded by an Austrian Flag with a St. George's orange and black ribbon striking through the "surrender." Such patches were given ONLY to soldiers and officers who escaped from the Austrian POW camps. Good original condition, showing some wear, heavy wear on underarms.
