This is a very rare example of a Huguenin trench watch, from the WW1 era.
Solid silver hallmarked full huntercase...in excellent condition.
The top hinge has a small split in one of thesections, thus the front coverdoesn\'t actually click to stay
shut,although itcloses and lays flat absolutely flush.
I leave this to the buyer to eitehr have repaired or leave as is.
However, it actually opens to a perfect 45 degrees byeasily just lifting the cover.
The rear cover is perfect, and clips open and shuts exactly as it should.
The polished nickel movement within is a very high quality 15-jewel piece, in full running order.
Nice compensation balance with a very smooth action.
Winds, runs and adjusts nicely, and actually keeps decent time too.
The dial is just excellent, with no chips, cracks or fractures.
The hunter bevelled glass crystal is a correct replacement.
Original and rare ACHEF silver case, diameter approx 36mm, with Swiss hallmarked silver and
the complete set of full Huguenin Freres factorystamps insidethe covers.
The thick silver wired lugs are substantial and sturdily attached.
Comes with an excellent vintage one-piece soft leather strap.
This watch would also actually perfectly suit a WW1 full cover strap.
A great addition to any military watch collection.
Will be either sent in a linen pouch, within a small oval cardboard presentation box,
or can also be sent in a new 9cm x 6cm pine presentation box (with linen pouch too).
Buyer can specify whichever he/she chooses!
