This is an extremely rare 19th century drawstring purse element with faceted black bugle and charlotte seed beads, all knotted together on red cotton. This would have been made by homeworkers and then sent off to have a silk or satin lining attached along with a hem and drawstring. Considering the age, it is in remarkable condition. One of the lower loops has lost its beads but the main body of the item is in very good condition. In the right skilful hands, this would make a super rare clutch bag.
