From a Connecticut Estate sale comes this Rare c1889 MAP OF PARIS, from Vol. XVIII, Plate V of the Encyclopedia Britannica.Since this has a good deal of detail in it including street names, railway stations and other sites, the fact that it does not show the Eiffel Tower, which was constructed in 1889 at one end of the Champ de Mars suggests that it hadn\'t been built yet.

This 10 3/8” x 15” double page map has a crease down the middle and, as shown, was removed from Vol. XVIII. It is in excellent antique condition with a few very minor slits or chunks out of the corners, none of which will interfere with framing. As is typical, there is some age related darkening around the edges.
