THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE offerDING FOR: From my personal collection, here's an enormous brass Petzval portrait lens, in unusually long 15-inch focal length, unmarked, but most likely from a maker in France. Ideally for full plate or 5 x 7 inch format, might actually cover up to 8 x 10 inch format, and it measures an impressive 6 1/2 inches long (without the hood) with 3 inch diameter glass. Yes, it's a monster! It's in EXCELLENT overall condition, featuring gorgeous natural golden patina all over the brass construction, crisp clean optics free of dust and mold and wipe marks, perfect smooth rack and pinion focus, and although it doesn't have a mounting flange, it comes with the original huge front hood, which is more rare than the lens itself. Wow, it's been a long time since I've handled such a large Petzval lens in such stunning condition! A very rare and VERY valuable classic antique optic for the serious large format photographer or collector!
