This doll has brown painted eyes, blonde hair in braids and blue coronet. She is wearing ONE earring (right) and the only the wire remains for the left. The ears are pierced with the wire inserted into the head. The front of her shoulder plate is signed Pace '85. Her body is cloth ( with brown age spotting), soft stuffed, with bisque lower arms (painted nail beds on fingers) and lower legs with coral flat sole boots with gold painted laces. She is wearing pantaloons and matching petticoat of a silky feeling material in a deep plum shade trimmed in black lace. There is a single black spot that looks like from a marker on the petticoat. The pink & black lace costume is two-piece - the buttons on the front are from trim only, the front either pins or is sewn closed.Doll # 2 is 18 inches tall. She is wearing the navy blue two piece costume trimmed white white bands of ribbon on the skirt and at the sleeve cuff. This doll has blue painted eyes and blonde hair in braids with a light iridescent blue bow at the back of the head. She has a decorated shoulderplate with collar and matchinglight iridescent blue scarf at the neck. The shoulderplate and hair have glazing like a china, the face was left with a matte finish like a parian. The back of her shoulderplate has the black logo for the Limited EditionFancy Hair Doll Club. She is wearing pantaloons and matching petticoat of a silky feeling material in an ivory shade trimmed in lace. Her two piece costume is a navy blue and closes with black metal snaps.
Doll # 3 is 16 inches tall. She is wearing the off-white costumed trimmed in sapphire blue ribbon. This doll has stationary blue glass eyes and long blonde hair in curls (seen at the back of the head) covered with the signature blue head scarf which extends down her shoulderplate in front. The shoulderplate and hair have glazing like a china, the face was left with a matte finish like a parian. She is signed in script on the front shoulderplate Pace '85. The back shoulderplate is marked No. 27 in black. She has a cloth body with bisque lower arms (painted nail beds on fingers) and lower legs with fancy blue blue boots with white ribbed stockings and painted blue lacy banding at the knees. She is wearing pantaloons and matching petticoat of a silky feeling material in an ivory shade trimmed in lace. Her two piece costume in off-white trimmed in pretty sapphire blue ribbon. Note the yellowing appearance to lower edge of the lacy trim on the skirt - I originally thought this may be soiling but think it may be intentionally done with tea-staining to "age" the fabric. Doll # 4 is 16 inches tall. This doll is from a different doll artist and from a different era - she is signed Sharon Carole 5-76 (May, 1976?) and Ethel-Chas. She was made from a pink tinted bisque and has painted blonde hair and blue eyes. She has the blonde flat top hairstyle of the china and parian dolls of 1860's. Her body is cloth and soft stuffed, it feels like a poly-fill of the period, and she has bisque hands and from the knee down she has long bisque lower legs with crudely painted tall boots. Please note the index finger on the RIGHT hand is broken. She is wearing a simple pair of lace trimmed drawers ( no petticoat) and a dress made of vintage fabric. The material has the look of velvet but a much heavier weight and feel (maybe velveteen?) in a royal purple shade trimmed in vintage lace and a spray of fabric flowers at the waist. She also is wearing a necklace of clear beads.
None of the doll's clothing has been cleaned. This is a non-smoking household but I do not know the history of where these doll's have been. I do not detect an odor of smoke. There are no strong odors of perfume. This would be a nice instant collection!
