An historic moment in maritime history captured in time, October, 1942. The RMS Queen Mary was racing at high speed, performing zig zag course changes to avoid U-boat encounters. The HMS Curacoa (D41) managed to get to close to this pattern and was sliced in half. 337 souls were lost in the collision at sea. There is much detail here and while it may not be 100% accurate, I don\'t see anyone doing any better.
The diorama sits on a wooden base, measuring 12\" by 24.5\" and with the model, stands no more than six inches tall. The model measures almost 21 inches and is plastic with custom details added to simulate her Gray Ghost role some 75 years ago. This is one-of-a-kind model, so offer accordingly.
Besides the rigging on the masts, the item is in excellent condition. Non-smoking home and I would recommend a plastic cover for future use. Item is VERY delicate, so shipping will be done with care.
