Rock Island Us&s Tp5, Dwarf Seachlight & Grs Railroad Train Signal For Sale
Three Signals & Spare Lens/Relays/Misc Hardware US&S TP5, US&S Dwarf Searchlight, GRS High Searchlight
First, before you dive into the sale is local pickup only, NO shipping! Signals are located in Moline, Illinois and will go to the highest buyer regardless of price.
Sold our house, cleaned out the shed and moving to a condo in Florida so everything has to go. The wife says haul it to the junk yard or sell it to the highest buyer, so hear we go.
I have had these three railroad signals for seven or eight years now. The goal was to restore them back to original but I just never got around to doing that.
All the signals are currently in a storage locker so forgive the picture quality as the lighting was not that good. Besides the 3 signals, there are a number of spare lens and parts which is pictured and I will describe below:
US&S TP5 - Rock Island Lines
Cast Iron TP5 Signal Head All glass lens, old style spring loaded glass hotspots, original mazda bulb sockets and cloth wiring
Cast Iron & Steel pole, 12 foot, this is the original 1930's pole and it is very very heavy!
Cast Iron Number Board and Pole Clamps - some missing bolts
5 Used Mazda Type Bulbs and 7 New Mazda Type Bulbs
Information and Observations: This signal was completely disassembled but as stated above, I never got around to the restoration. I have re-assembled the signal for the pictures, the outer lens are not sealed, just set in place. Some of the lens retaining ring screws are missing and are a mishmash of different screws. The rear access cover bolt/lever is frozen and will need to be freed up with a torch or soaked with WD40. The signal has old style spring loaded hot spots installed which can be removed if hot spots are not desired.
US&S Dwarf Searchlight - Rock Island Lines
Old Style Cast Iron Dwarf
45 degree Incline Unit - Hard to see in the picture but it is installed
Working H2 Relay Unit
New Compound Lens
Information and Observations: There is no lens for the 45 degree incline unit. The incline unit can be unbolted and removed. There are two new compound lens, one for this dwarf and the second is a spare. There are 4 smaller hotspots, one for this unit and 3 spares. There are 4 H2 relays, one complete and working, the other 3 in various stages of disassembly. Two relays are missing the glass bowl. One has the front lens housing removed which is among the spare parts. I believe they all work but two would need bowls and the 3rd would need to be reassembled. There are two relay compound lens, one for the relay with the front lens housing removed and the other is a spare. Some additional parts: H2 quick disconnect, relay nuts, clips, screws, roundels, ect.
GRS High Searchlight
Old Style Cast Iron Searchlight
Old Style Rolled Steel Target Background
Pole Mounting Clamp but NO POLE
Cast Iron Finial
Compound Lens - Not sealed, just set in place for picture
Large Glass Hotspot
2 Working SA-1 relays
Rear door with rope gasket intact but will need to be re-waxed.
Information and Observations: Target background is the old style rolled steel type, not the modern day aluminum. Two working SA-1 relays, one for signal and a spare. Two large glass hotspots, one for the signal and a spare. Spare rear door with rope gasket and spare lens retaining ring.
