ROMA - S. PIETRO VATICAN PLATE BY MITTERTEICH OF BAVARIA ST. PETER’S BASILICA IN ROME - EXCELLENT VINTAGE USED CONDITION

This Plate is a lovely collectible for all Roman Catholics, all those who love Rome, and all history aficionados!

Features:

Highly detailed with the Plate’s center medallion showing St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican rising majestically above the City of Rome. The Plaza of St. Peter’s Square, its Obelisk, and the Colonnade fill the foreground.

Colorful – with an eye-catching, metallic gold and papal red border measuring 13/16 of an inch wide at its outer rim. The center medallion is itself decorated in red, beige, green, blue, and black with another thinner, metallic gold line circling it.

Creamy white background

Diameter: 7 + 5/8 inches

Signed on the back: “Mitterteich” within a banner over “Bavaria” which appears between the downturned blades of two crossed swords with their handle grips connected by an “M” high above the Mitterteich banner.

Condition:

This Mitterteich Plate is in Excellent Used Condition as follows:

The Plate has no chips, no cracks, and no crazing.

Colors are bright with no fading, and the details are crisp. Please note that bright spots are the result of light reflecting from the Plate\'s glossy surface; dark areas are the shadows caused by the depth of the Plate.

Gold trim on the border is in good condition with only a short burnished area below “S. Pietro”. See picture #12.

There is some gold loss near the burnished area (see picture #12), along the rim\'s edge, and along the thin line circling the Medallion (see Picture #11).There is adhesive residue from a hanger tab on the back (see picture #10).
