Ron Scharf California 1950's Modern Studio Pottery Large Fish Dish Tackett Rare:
A unusual and very rare mid-century modern art pottery large fish dish by Southern California ceramic artist Ron Scharf. Glazed terra-cotta with white and bluish- grey stripes, most definitelyfrom the 1950's. Primitivist EraCalifornia modernism from what I would consider to be the same "school" as LaGardo Tackett, Edmund Ronaky, etc. - he definitely had something to do with Tackett because a number of his pieces are remarkably similar, especially this one, which resembles the Freeman-Lederman dishes by Tackett and Kenji Fujita. Scharf's work is pretty scarce. Don't miss out on this plus the other Scharf pieces I have listed (see pics.)This sale is for the large fish only.
This piece is in excellent/mint condition.
Signed "RON SCHARF".
15 inches long x 5.5" at widest x 1"d.
