Rookwood Pottery Native American Design Production Vase - Vintage:
This is a Vintage Rookwood Native American Design Production Vase. It is 6 1/2 inches tall and is covered with a mat green glaze with a brown over spray on the top one half of the vase. Around the base is the Native American design. It was manufactured by the Rookwood Pottery Company of Cincinatti, Ohio in 1914. It is marked on the bottom with the Rookwood Fourteen Flame logo, XIV denoting the year of manufacture and the shape number 1658 F. Since this is a production vase it was probably produced in more than one year. The vase has some darkened crazing and a pinhead glaze flaw on the underside of the bottom rim which is barely visible. It is in otherwise very good condition and I can find no other chips, cracks or mold flaws. The colors on this 100 year old piece of pottery are quite striking. I work very hard to correctly describe everything I sell but I am not perfect. I not only check the item, it is checked by a second person.
