Roy Decarava Vtg (40s?) Color Screenprint Emaciated Black Man New York Listed For Sale
A rare treat for the Roy Decarava collector! An original framed color screenprint depicting what appears to be an emaciated hungry Black Man in the poor section of New York. Nice use of lighting. The color screenprint image measures 9" X 14" ( 13" X 19"including the matting and old frame). It is signed "Decarava" in the bottom right corner. Judging by the frame and image, i would guess that this color screenprint was done in the 1940s or 50s--altho not certain. It has NEVER been removed from its frame and has never been appraised. The color screenprint and frame are in excellent condition.***Please note that most of my photos have background Glare from the bright glass. This black artist is well listed in all the price guides and also has over 15 works that recently sold at Christies sale. Winning buyer to pay $26 for Parcel Insured delivery.
