Beautiful vintage Royal Albert Crown China, England Alhambra 6907 trio.

This pattern was produced from 1917 - 1931. The backstamp that appears on this set was used during the period 1927 - 1935 and the set therefore could have only have been produced sometime during the period 1927 - 1931.

The cup shape is Hampton.

Imari style - cobalt blue with rose inserts edged in gold, gold trim.

This set is in superb condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The colours are as vibrant as they were on the day the set left the Royal Albert factory. The gilding has retained all of its original lustre and there is no wear to it whatsoever, which is a very rare thing indeed.

The cup stands 6.8cm (2 5/8\") high and from the rim to the back of the elegant handle it is 10cm (4\") wide. There is some very light crazing on the handle, a small patch of light crazing on the foot and light crazing on the bottom.

The saucer has a 14.2cm (5 9/16\") diameter. It has a small rough patch on the back which at first glance looks like a very shallow slab chip but we have examined the area with a professional grade jewellers loupe and determined that it is more likely to be a manufacturing flaw that reflects the comparatively primitive manufacturing processes that existed at the time the saucer was made and that are commonly found on pieces of this vintage. The saucer has a handful of very light surface scratches on the white middle section, which are really only visible when it is held at 45 degrees and light is shone across its surface.

The plate has a 15.5cm (6 1/8\") diameter. On the white section there is a very thin, 5mm (4/16\") long surface scratch that is deep enough that the depression can be felt with your thumbnail, but the plate is otherwise in perfect condition.

In summary, a highly collectible trio that is in excellent condition and that would grace any display cabinet.
