For saleis a bulldog manufactured by the world famous Royal Doulton factory in Stoke on Trent, England.

Itfeatures a seated, medium sized bulldog, draped in a Union Jack flag. It was issued between the years of 1941 and 1961 although this appears to be a very early model.

Unusually the blue colouration on the flag has a matte finish, and appears to be unglazed, whereas all the other sections are glazed.

It would seem unlikely that the glaze has worn away so specifically in these areas and I would therefore conclude that this is as intended and it is factory consistent.

It is possible that this is an experimental piece and the finish is intended. I have never seen a similar example and believe that it may be a rare find.

I have included several photographs for your reference and you will see that there is also a possibility that there may have been some overpainting of the blue at some time in the past.

There are no chips or cracks to the dog, although there is some crazing and a little discolouration through ageing.

Your item will be insured against loss or damage up to the value of £41.00.

Further comprehensive insurance will be offered at the end of the sale if the final value of the item is greater than £41.00.

Signed for deliveries can also be requested at the end of the sale at a cost of an additional 95p for UK buyers or £3.50 for overseas.

Exceptions - Customers from Argentina and the Russian Federation please note that we will only send items by Royal Mail Signed For and that the additional £3.50 charge will be added at the end of the sale.

Packing

All our items are packed securely, with a combination of chippings and bubble wrap to ensure safe delivery. We make a small charge for this but do not intentionally profit from this charge.

Combined Shipping

We will always combine shipping for multiple purchases to give you the cheapest possible delivery costs. Packages weighing up to 2kg will be sent via Royal Mail. Packages in excess of 2kg may be sent by courier if this is more cost effective for you.
