You are offerding on a barely formerly enjoyed condition, TOP OF THE LINE, S. Bang "Signature Grade" rich dark honey amber stained smooth cross grain "Asymmetrical Canted Egg" shaped pipe, that was hand carved in Copenhagen, Denmark, by Per Hansen. This beautiful pipe is stamped as the 33rd "Signature Grade" pipe that Per had crafted in 1997. Most of you know that while the "Signature Grade" is the top grade of S. Bang pipes, there are variations as to price and quality of the grain and the amount of work lavished upon a pipe, within that grade. This is the only grade where the final price varies, depending on those just mentioned variables. I can say with confidence, that this pipe sits at the very apex of the "Signature" graded series. When you view the photos below, I know that you will agree. This very example is as beautiful as an S. Bang pipe gets. Period!
The front to back cross grain of the bowl that flows into straight grain on the shank, is dense, tight and symmetrical in its coverage. The magnificent, dense, swirling birds eye grain that is displayed on the front and back of the bowl along with the top and the bottom of the shank, is both alluring and mesmerizing in its appearance. The fluted carving on the left hand side of the bowl not only adds design interest to the pipe, but took an extraordinary amount of skill to execute both in its design and commission. One never tires of looking at this amazing briar!
This pipe possesses a perfect balance with an exceptionally comfortable hand feel (That fluted design adds to the comfort of the bowl in the hand!), and an effortless draft. A pipe cleaner will pass to the bottom of the bowl with ease. The German ebonite stem is beautifully cut and will be comfortable on the mouth. I am of the opinion that the best mouthpieces in the world are found on S. Bang pipes. From personal experience S. Bang pipes perform as good as it gets!
Here are the dimensions of this outstanding world class hand crafted pipe: The overall length is about 5.25”. The bowl height is about 1.875”. The tobacco chamber is about 0.825” in diameter and tapers down the bowl’s 1.625” inner depth. Tobacco capacity is about that of a Group 6 to ODA size Dunhill pipe. It weighs 61 grams. The original black leather pipe bag that is pictured below is included.

have lightly, but thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, rejuvenated, and
polished this beautiful pipe both inside and out. This took no time at
all, since this pipe was only used a couple of times! The original hand
cut ebonite stem is free from any tooth marks, oxidation, or scratches. This pipe's overall condition is flawless and ultra pristine. It is

I use only the best of packaging materials. The pipes that I ship have too much time and labor lavished on their restoration and presentations as well as the many of these pipes are irreplaceable works of art. I am not going to risk damage by using lesser packing. (In my thirteen years of selling pipes on and shipping thousands of pipes around the world, not a single pipe has been damaged!) I also try my utmost to ship your pipe the same day that I receive your payment, even if this means making a special trip to the Post Office just for you alone. The Registered parcels that ship overseas take extensive time with both the packaging and four forms of documentation that must be filled out. Unfortunately, this all has to be reflected in my shipping costs, so please offer accordingly.
