A rare English solid sterlingsilver pin cushion. It is hallmarked for Chester 1914 with the makers marksbeing on SM&Co for Sampson Mordan & Co Ltd, a very highly regarded firm. It has been superbly designed being madein the form of a chick emerging from an egg. It is in superb condition beingfree from dings splits holes and repairs. Its fabric may be theoriginal and is again in superb condition. It measures 1 inch (2.6cms) tall andweighs 11 grams. A beautiful sought after example.
