An absolutely outstanding antique door knocker depicting a Bishop holding a thieving devil by the nose with a pair of grips, the devil having stolen the challis (in his hand) from the tabernacle.The Bishop has a halo, so possibly a Bishop of Rome.Below is an armorial with a cross, the knocker is styled as a satyrs head.A fantastic piece and genuine age.On the rear is the Reg No 551012 for 1909 so over 100 years old.There is probably a tale to the icon but it\'s lost on me.If you know it please please inform me, I really would be most grateful.
It measures 5 3/4\" (145mm) long x 2 1/2\" (65mm) wide.
