GRAY TELEPHONE PAY STATION CO.
Model 13A COIN COLLECTOR
"UNTOUCHED" ORIGINAL CONDITION
An extremely nice original example of a Gray model 13A Coin Collector. If you enjoy collecting these little gems, the 13A is a very scarce and desirable collector, and is a much sought-after model.
Photos above and below show all facets of this example. Please feel free to email if you have questions.
Note the beautiful, cast brass Gray Telephone Pay Station Company tag. This little brass tag is often missing.
Although it looks like a nickel coin collector, this little guy takes all three; nickels, dimes, and quarters. I wonder if this was actually the first single-slot?
I have seen several of these that are missing the coin vault door, but note the beautiful original mounted here. Both the upper and lower keys are included, and work perfectly. I have intentionally made the photos large so that you can see the excellent condition of this beautifully original coin collector.
The actuator handle needs to be removed in order for the top housing can be removed. The special bolt in the photo above needs to first be removed so that the handle can be taken off.
You can see how untouched the internals of this example really are. The intricate mechanism within works as originally intended, sounding either 1, 2 or 3 times, depending on what coin is inserted. It's just nearly impossible to find one in this condition anymore.
