Scarce Vintage Spook Ice Fish Decoy / Fishing Lure / James Heddon & Sons Co. For Sale
This beautiful, scarce, vintage, with painted eyes & gills, 5 inch, early Heddylin plastic "No.459R Ice Spook Fish Spearing Decoy" with it's marketing box was made by the James Heddon's Sons Company of Dowagiac, Michigan. The circa is 1930. The lead ballast typically painted in Heddon's crackelback paint finish is marked "HEDDON ICE SPOOK" TheJumping Bass box shown is the box that this Spook decoy was found in. I have shownimages of each end of the box which is marked with the catalog number, but is now faded andnot readable. This scarce Heddon company decoy was only made for about 2 years and is in themost desirable scarcest color of Natural scale. The condition of both the decoy and box are with very slight in use wear only. For provenance see "The Heddon Legacy" a book by Bill Roberts & Robert Pavey, page #97.
