James "Dub" Schaaf passed away in July of 2010 and we all lost a good and faithful friend, a truly 'old fashioned' gentleman, and a consummate bamboo rodmaker. Jim loved working in bamboo and was spurred on to even greater heights by the acquisition of the Dickerson beveler from Tim Bedford many years before. He was then able to add his very popular "Dickerson Series" to his menu of bamboo offerings, one of which is being offered as this item.
Jim loved everything about Dickerson, the man and the rodmaker, and always spoke of him with the greatest reverence. This item speaks volumes about his respect for the man's rod designs. This is my favorite taper!
