I purchased this box at a Moscow Commission Store during the ealry 1980\'s. It shows two peasant women walking in the snow and carrying buckets. It is a detail from an official Fedoskino design and might or might not have been done by a \"legal\" Fedoskino artist. The lid is hinged, the box measures 6.25\" X 4.25\" X 2\" and it is in good condition.. The artist\'s name (Xyrilkin) is written at the bottom right along with the date (\'37). The lacquer shows some crazing and there is a dull area at the top, which is probably from some sort of packing material. There is no decoration on the sides of the box. The original receipt from the commission store, written in cyrillic script, is inside the box. In October 1958, this piece was appraised by Liros Gallery of Alexandria, VA, for $250. All reasonable offers will be considered.
