SIGNED 19C GERMAN PORCELAIN BERLIN PLAQUE OF QUEEN LOUISE BY WAGNER
Thislisting is for a beautifully hand painted and signed 19th century German Berlin porcelain plaque in a carved giltwood frame in the Florentine style. The frame measures 16 1/4 by 13 1/4 inches or 41.3 by 33.7 cm. The plaque itself measures 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches or 21.6 by 14 cm.
The plaque is porcelain and is all hand painted. It features a portrait ofQueen Louise of Prussia. She has a flowing white fancydresstrimmed in gilt decoration.Afur lined blue velvet cape drapesher shoulders as it cascades down the stairs behind her.She has a pink bowed ribbon around her waist and white scarf in her hair that flows around her neck toframe her face.She is quite beautiful.
The back of the plaque marked in script with "Luise .. Richler" along withanother word whichis is hard to make out. Also written in handwritten script is Mrs. A.J. Auryansin (?) along with B 283. Please see photos. The painting is signed on the front lower right "WAGNER", one of the finest Berlin artists. It isframed in a fancy Italian gilt Florentinecarved wood frame with acanthus leaf decoration. A very beautiful painting.
The plaque is in excellent condition. The frame has age appropriate wear to the wood and gold. Please see the many photos for more on the look and condition.
