Museum Quality Meiji Japanese Satsuma multi-scene, highly detailed bowl by Kinkozan and Sozan.
Brand/Provenance: Satsuma, Japan. Age: Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). Size: The piece measures 12cm in diameter X 6.5cm in height. Artist/signature: The piece is signed "Kinkozan Tsukuru" (Kinkozan Kyoto made) to the base. Condition: The piece is in superb condition. It has one tiny, flatchipto the gilding on the outer edge and a very small, tight hairline running down. There is also some very light gilding wear to the bowl, commensurate through age. NO other issues or restoration. Comments: A Museum Quality Meiji Japanese Satsuma multi-scene panel bowl. The piece is decorated with variousscene panels to both in the inside and outside of the bowl. On the inside, these include various figural processions and a meditating god. On the outside, the panels include a festive procession with figures on stilts, dancing frogs, various learned gods or people of high importance, a special gathering around flowers and other floral decoration. Between the panels, the spaces are filled with 'millefleurs' (thousand flower) patterns. The borders are filled withfinelydetailed geometric and floral designed patterns.
