On offer is a fine example of a BSA Model 9Gaperture
sight, dating from the early 1930's.
The sight has the correct BSA side plate, longer
trigger guard screw and safety spring. The correct locking screw that attaches this sight to the side plate is missing. A screw with thecorrect enfield thread is in place and willhold the sight firmly in place on the range.
This sight will fit any Lee Enfield, or SMLE. However, the side plate is designed to fit early variants with the rear left scallop for the dial sight peep on the fore end, without modification to the fore end.
This aperture sight will provide 40moa windage adjustment in 1/2
MOA (1/2 inch at 100 yards) increments and up to 1200 yards in elevation.
This sight is in exceptional condition for its 80-odd years of
age, with almost all original blue retained and with a full range of
adjustments with positive and ultra-tight click stops on both dials.
