Sony Tr-63 Vintage Transistor Radio With Original Case For Sale
This is a real vintage piece. This Sony TR-63 Transistor Radio is from the 1950's.
This is the first Japanese transistor radio that was sold in the US. It was also the first to use a 9 volt battery. All parts were hand wired and handsoldered back then.
I put in a new battery and it does work, however the volume is very low. You can hear stations, but at a very low level. I have no idea what that means other than it does work.
New battery is included with the radio.
Also have the original case as you see pictured. The belt loop piece is ripped and there is a small rip on the bottom of the case which is also pictured.
This was my grandfathers old radio. Its been sitting inmy closet for over 25 years. It was not stored with a battery in it, so there isno corrosion on the battery terminals. I'm cleaning out lots of things and I think someone will enjoy this beautiful old vintage piece.
I don't know much about this radio other than what is listed. Item is sold as is and there are no returns.
Please email with any questions, I will do my best to answer.

So there is now another rip in the bottom of the case.
