This is a fantastic 1960’s example! Weighing in at a lovely 1710g, this 18 was madebefore Zildjian fully modernized manufacturing.It has a combination of true hand hammering over the human-controlledmachine hammering, and some typical casting and lathing irregularities. I missthat! Newer examples are somass-produced and sterile looking, and simply lack the character (and sound) ofthese earlier examples.Structurally sound. A little out of round at the mounting hole,but not key-holed, no cracks, not warped, and the edge is smooth.

Wonderful sounding light ride. Fairly bright, airy and pleasant, semi-woodystick, good articulation, great tone, nice bell and crashes nicely. This would make a great left-side ride forjazz or a main ride for small gigs like coffee shops, tiny bars, churchgigs, etc. Super-sounding lightride. THIS is the sound they have been going for with their Armand series and more recently their Avedis series. Why not buy the real-deal for less?
