Spanish Colonial, Peruvian Early Bronze Spoon, Chimu / Inca / Colonial 9in.:
An early Spanish Colonial, Peruvianhigh copper bronze spoon. The spoon carries on the form of Chimu / Incan design into the Spanish Colonial period. It is difficult to date this spoonprecisely, though it would be safe to say somewhere between the 17th and 19th Centuries. This scarce utilitarian item measures approx. 8 3/4in. (22.5cm.) and is in good, cleaned condition. The wide shallow bowl of the spoon is attached to a long tapering handle to create an elegant form. The spoon is in good condition with scattered spots of shallow surface pitting.
