SPECTACULAR 19TH C AUTHENTIC FRENCH AUBUSSON TAPESTRY PILLOW #1

You are looking at an authentic (no Chinese knockoff here) 19th century hand woven Aubusson Tapestry turned into a jaw dropping 21st century pillow. The Aubusson is in very good condition and measures approx. 12” x 17”. It features peaches in the center of a scrolly cartouche. The colors are pink, peach, green, gold, tan and cream. On either side of the tapestry there is a 2” French antique gold metallic ribbon trim. The scroll in the metallic trim mimics the scroll in the Aubusson. This was not only a major feat to find such a trim but to have the perfect piece to put it on was nothing short of a miracle. Never before have I had an antique trim and the tapestry so suited for each other.

The fabric I used is an off white “to the trade only” designer 100% silk with a geometric design. This fabric is also on the back of the pillow. I finished it off with two different trims. First I used a pale green ball trim that matches the green in the Aubusson and on top of that I used a cream tassel and bead trim. By using both trims I not only brought everything together color wise but also gave it a very opulent look.

This JAW DROPPING one of a kind pillow measures approx. 18” x 24”. There is a hidden zipper closure for your convenience and a down and feather insert for a plush look and feel. The entire pillow is lined with a felt like lining to give it heft/body. The elements used in this pillow were rare and extremely high-end. I spared no expense. The price I am asking may seem high to the lay person but considering what I have put into this pillow believe me it is a bargain. In a shop this pillow would easily cost $2,000.

There is a mate to this pillow (see photos). The mate features pears instead of peaches. I would ideally like to sell them to the same person as it is so hard to find pairs of Aubusson pillows of this quality but I am going to sell them separately against my better judgement and hope that one person buys both as I think they are worth more as a pair than separately.

This pillow would look great in a boudoir as well as a living room. It is a very elegant pillow and would bring charm and grace to any home. It is in excellent newly created condition combining the old (tapestry and metallic trim) with the new (all other elements). It comes from a smoke free home.
