An original and scarce Naval Good Shooting Medal awarded to Able Seaman John Booth who served prior to and during the Great War, later commissioned as an Officer.Awarded the Good Shooting medal whilst serving on HMS Panther in 1911 for his excellent gunnery performance on the 6 pounder quick fire gun.Naval Good Shooting Medal - George V issue named in impressed capitals to:235211 J. BOOTH. A. B. H.M.S. PANTHER. 1911. 6. PR. Q.F.1914-15 Star named in impressed capitals to:235211. J. BOOTH. P. O. R. N.First World War Royal Navy Medal Roll lists him and states 'see officers roll'. The UK Navy List shows a John Booth as having the rank of Acting Mate in 1917. Certainly worth more research.Edge knock on the obverse of the Shooting Medal at 7 o'clock.Some verdigris on the Star.
