For your consideration is a vintage 1907 Teddy Bear Sterling Spoon.
It is engraved with the initials F. P. (?) and dated 07/04/07.
An early commemorative spoon celebrating the Teddy Bear. The first Teddy Bear collectibles were stuffed animals from around 1903, popularizing on the story of Teddy Roosevelt sparing an older bear or some younger cubs on a hunting trip to Mississippi in 1902. The bear was an older black bear in the original report, but it became younger with retelling.
The spoon is nicely detained, with no loss of detail. The bears sit atop a handle with a textured bark finish. \'Teddy Bear\' in slightly recessed relief. The back of the spoon is equally detailed. Marked \'Sterling\' on the back.
