STERLING SILVER TURQUOISE LARGE FEATHER PENDANT SIGNED SY SHIRLEY YAZZIE, NAVAJO
This is a large and very nicely executed sterling silver Navajo feather style pendant created by artisan Shirley Yazzie. It measures 3 1/2\" tall with the 3/8\" bail and is 1 1/8\" at the widest point. The bottom portion, just above the feather point, has an 8 mm saw tooth bezel set turquoise stone of a beautiful blue with a slight dark matrix. The sides of the pendant are cut to create the feather affect and the center is extensively tooled the length of the pendant for additional enhancement. The stem of the feather is wound with a sterling \"cord\" that eventually drapes over the front of the pendant. The bail is also tooled and will accommodate up to a 5 mm chain but can be widened if desired. The backside is stamped with the Sterling designation and the maker\'s mark, SY. It\'s a wonderful interpretation of a significant Navajo symbol often conveying blessings and prayers for honor, strength, wisdom, trust and freedom just to name a few. Total weight is 8 grams.
