Please let me know if you would like to see photos of the currently available pipes to select yours from.This beautiful smaller 'STUDENT' model, straight Billiard shaped pipe in MEERSCHAUM with bamboo and an Acrylic Juwelith (yellow amber) stem was made by the well known STRAMBACH of Austria. It is in NEW and UNSMOKED MINT condition and is as rare as it is beautiful. Featuring the desirable delrin push in stem and shank design without filters and theoriginal factory marked box. This is the perfect pipe to use for sampling different blends, especially with it's smaller size and the smoking properties of meerschaum which prevent any ghosting of blends that have been previously enjoyed in it. This would also be a great choice for the beginner, hence the model name 'Student'. Thisgorgeous MEERSCHAUM is hand crafted in Austria with a history of pipe making that goes back to 1904. STRAMBACH is one of the BEST Meerschaum and Calabash Gourd makers in the history of pipes and utilized the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. They were the brand of Calabash smoked in the Quentin Tarantino movie "Inglorious B******s" and were known to rival and even surpass the famed Andreas Bauer pipes also of Austria. The smooth and ghostless smoking qualities of Meerschaum creates a cool and pleasant smoking experience perfect for many of your favorite pipe tobacco blends. I find the meerschaum pipes to be the best way to taste and evaluate new tobacco blends as they do not retain any of the previous tobaccos and can be smoked much more rigorously than briar pipes. As they are smoked the meerschaum will naturally color, making each pipe unique. Meerschaum is also perfect for heavy daily use and smoking in wind or while driving as it is impervious to burnout or damage that can happen to briar or other pipes.
