This is astunning and quite superbcarved gothicoak woodenpanelwith the reliefcarving of thehead of theangelcentrally with other intricate carvingsofwhich:

During our research we have been informed itdatesfrom thegothic period of the early 19th century and is ofeuropean origin.

Probably french.

Dates about c1820.

Certainly a quite superbcarved oak octagonal panel with:

Centrally the head of anangel with other intricate carvings with scrolls, ribbons, leaves and other.

Angel head with the shell shaped carving above with the cascading hair.

Carved in relief, therefore a one piece carved panel with the quite stunning and intricate carvings.

Has an original gesso finish.

It has an overall sizeof about 16 x 10.75inches.

max depth of about 1inch.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall conditionisexcellent andis withoutany major blemish.

Has evidence of the oak showing through where the gesso is subject to rubbing....ie. to the nose!!.
