ITEM DESCRIPTION
This saleis fora incredibly beautiful antique Volkstedt porcelain comport.
Dating to the late 19thC.
Finely modelled with children picking grapes from a tree.
Measures 26.5cm tall.
Volkstedt crossed pitchforks mark to the underside.
Nice condition, about three small losses to the leaves, the branch is missing the very tip and one of the boys has had his head cleanly off and reglued but its very very hard to tell.
It doesnt affect it in anyway but the metal bolt that holds the bowl to the stem is missing so the top has been glued on a very long time ago.
A really stunning piece of porcelain.
