Stunning Pair: Black Forest Mid 19thc Gothic Oak Green Man Horned Carved Corbels:
These are aquite stunning pair of gothic wooden oak carved corbels with the carvings of the green man with the horns ofwhich:
During our research we have been informed they date from the gothic period of the early 19th century and are of black forest origin.
Date about c1820.
Both are carved in an oak.
Wonderful rectangular shapes.
Centrally is: the head of the green man with the tongues poking out of their mouths. Curved horns to the top of the heads. Other intricate decoration with the relief carvings. To the top of the rears: intricate flower decoration.
The corbels have an overall size of about 13.5 x 2.25inches.
Max depths of about 6inches.
Condition: Considering the age,the overall condition to both isexcellent and both are without blemish.

Besides being a very collectable and heavy pair of early 19th century gothic oak corbels withthe carvings of the green man with the horns & other decorative carvings, dating about c1820,ese are both would also look fabulous displayed.
