HANDMADE Spoons by Norah Creswick - VERY RARE PAIR
This is a lovely rare VINTAGE PAIR of solid sterling silver HANDMADE coffee spoons, which was made in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1946 byNorah Creswick - the illustrious Scottish the Artist-Jeweller/Silversmith at her Harrison Road workshops. They are in an unusual pattern with stylised Celtic motifs to the stem and tothe finial. Each measures 3 3/8" long and is 7/8" across its bowl. Each weighs8.3 grams -a total of well over 1/2troy oz. They are NOT engraved.
They arein very good condition with less than the usual surface scratching that you'd expect for their age and NO splits or dents - without the usual dimpling to the bowls and with none of the usual wear to the leading edges - SUPERB. Each is hallmarked on the rear of the bowl with N.C, thistle (Scottish sterling silver assay marks),triple-towered castle,Q showing that each was hallmarked in Edinburgh in 1946. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A rare pair of Handmade Scottish spoons in superb condition afteralmost70 years.
