Get Vendio Gallery - Now FREE! this is a superb quality old japanese piece, the wooden base is a wonderful shape and design, there are 2 birds with carved ox bone heads and the bodies covered in pearl sections to resemble feathers, photos dont do this any justice, viewing is highly recommended, both birds are signed under the tail feathers. the ox bone heads have age cracks, the eyes are amazing. difficult to tell if any pear decoration is damaged so im selling as seen, some bits may have been re-glued over the years but overall they are the best ive seen. the birds measure about 5.8cm high and 5.2cm high, beak to tail is about 7.5cm, the base measures about 21cm long. 4.5cm high. info welcome on the signatures, surely by one of the masters carvers, possibly masayuki.
