This is asuperblarge oakhymn board from the gothic eriod of the 19th century ofwhich:
During our research we have been informed it certainlydatesfrom the19th century andisof english origin.
Would have been displayed in a church or a house of religion during the gothic period of the 19th century.
In an oak.
Tracery carvings to the top with the magnificent carved text of Hymns in lower case.
Certainly a quite superb largeoak hymn boardwith thewonderful shape and carvings throughout.
These days, these are used for the displaying of postcards, photos and similar.
Intricatesymmetrical carvings to either side of the centrepiecewith its decorative angled top and carvedends top and bottom.
It hasan overall sizeof about 36.5 x 15.5inches.
Max depth of about 2.25inches.
Depth of sections is about 4.25inches.
Condition: Considering the age,the overall conditionisexcellent and not subject to any major blemishes.
