Superb Antique Arts & Crafts Silver Caddy Spoon, London Hallmarks, 1914:
SUPERB ANTIQUE ARTS & CRAFTS SILVER CADDY SPOON, LONDON HALLMARKS, 1914
Thisisa beautful Arts & Crafts silver Caddy Spoon. Set with a cabochon stone below what looks like a type of tree with fruit. The dish part is hammered silver and has four marks to the back.
The first is the makers mark 'ASGD.LO'. This is the Artificers Guild of London. They were makers and retailers of metalwork which started in 1901.Then the letter code 't' for the year 1914. Then its the leopards head for London and finally the britannia lion to show it's genuine silver.
It needs a clean and I always like to leave items in their original found condition. This came from a local estate and was found hidden away in a box full of items.
The quality is superb and I'm sure it will appeal to collectors of Caddy Spoons and Arts & Crafts collectors.
