SUPERB ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN NORTHWEST COAST CARVED WOODEN GREASE BOWL
I will be selling a very large number of interesting antiques including Tribal art, Chinese, Japanese, and European antiques. I will possibly be selling over two days so please check again on FRIDAY as there may be more pieces for sale. PLEASE NOTE: This sale is in GB Pounds Sterling.

This is a wonderful small antique Northwest Coast grease bowl carved from a single piece of wood, probably alder, which has then been painted black with red detail around the eyes and mouth. I would imagine it dates to the first quarter of the 20th Century and was clearly made by a skilled artist, has developed a reasonable patina over the upper surface and remained for the most part dry to the underside which is normal as this part has been untouched for the most part. A rare piece of Native American art this would look great displayed and would certainly fit in a collection of Northwest Coast art.

All the feet have been broken / expertly restored at one time or another and so this does not really notice anymore - also a slight chip to the front right foot as photographed and other light surface wear.

Postage & Packing For your peace of mind and mine items will be sent fully insured. I will be posting from WEDNESDAY 27TH MARCH so please make payment as early as possible. PLEASE be a little patient with the post - I will get them posted asap but I work on my own, often have a fair amount to post and I do pack carefully. I also post in the order that things are paid for.

Any delays by the postal services either at my end or abroad are rarely my fault. I always post out at the latest 3 working days after receiving cleared payment but sometimes an item is slowed up by a backlog of post or delayed whilst being processed through customs. To give you an idea it generally takes about 3-7 working days within Europe and 9 - 14 working days to the U.S. / rest of the world. If speed is of the essence then I can use a courier (DHL / FEDEX etc.) but prices for couriers start at around £30 / £40GBP for the very smallest object and VERY quickly escalate depending on size, weight and destination. Please note also that there has been a considerable hike in postage prices by the Royal Mail this year. I add on very little, often not enough to cover the packaging materials, so the price I quote really is as fair as possible.
