Please note that items are usually dispatched within 10 working days, generally on the next TUESDAY or WEDNESDAY following cleared payment (7 OR 8 DAYS AFTER THE sale). If this constitutes a problem for you, please let me know via the messaging facility (not email) and I will do my best to help. Please be aware that I can usually only post once a week! I charge postage at estimated cost plus a bit extra towards expense of bubble wrap and boxes. Overseas packages under 2kgs are usually posted using ISF Registered Airmail, including insurance. This costs £7.75 on top of the normal airmail price; but it is worth the extra cost for safety. Items under £50 in value may be shipped via basic Airmail.
FOR sale HEREISASTUNNING NAUTILUS PORCELAINTEA TRIO (CUP, SAUCER AND PLATE), MADE IN THE LATE 19TH CENTURY - VERY EARLY 20TH CENTURY. THESET IS MARKED WITH THE NAUTILUS CURSIVE "M" MARK. THE NAUTILUS PORCELAIN COMPANY OPERATED AT POSSIL POTTERY IN GLASGOW, SCOTLAND BETWEEN 1894-1911 WHERE THEY PRODUCED TOP-QUALITY, FINE PORCELAIN.
THIS DELICATE,HAND-PAINTEDSET ISBEAUTIFULLY SHAPED AND FABULOUSLY DECORATED WITH UNDERGLAZE COBALT BLUE AND GILT BORDERS AND PAINTED FLOWERS - THIS IS AGORGEOUS LITTLE SET!
THERE IS A STRANGE ENIGMA RELATING TO THIS PORCELAIN - SOME TIME AGO I HAD A LARGE SET IN THIS IDENTICAL SHAPE AND PATTERN. 80% OF THE PIECES WERE MARKED LIMOGES (MARTIAL REDON) AND 20% WERE MARKED NAUTILUS - I AM NOT SURE IF THE SET WAS ALL LIMOGES (BUT PAINTED AT NAUTILUS), OR IF SOME OF THE PIECES WERE MANUFACTURED BY NAUTILUS FROM A LIMOGES MOULD. I KNOW THAT THE NAUTILUS FACTORY EMPLOYED DESIGNERS AND WORKERS FROM LIMOGES.
THECUP MEASURES 2 1/2 INCHES IN HEIGHT, THESAUCER MEASURES5 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND THE PLATE 6 1/4 INCHES.
IN OVERALLVERY GOODANTIQUECONDITION; THERE HAVE BEEN THREE REPAIRS TO THE RIM OF THE CUP (TWO OF WHICH ARE FLEABITE-SIZED NIBBLES - EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE) AND ONE REPAIR TO THE RIM OF THE SAUCER. PLEASE VIEW PHOTOS FOR DETAILS.
