Superb C.1848 Staffordshire St. Bernard Figure Carrying Royal Princess

A superb rare model of a mid 19thc Staffordshire figure of a St. Bernard dog carrying the Royal Princess on its back. Dating c.1848.

Excellent attention to detail on this finely detailed figure. The St. Bernard has separate legs which are sturdy and powerful. The dog is white with brown feathered markings over. Wonderful facial detail. The Royal Princess has a beautiful face with individual eyebrows, blue eyes and pink cheeks. She has separate arms.

Height some 8.25" x some 6.5" length.

Condition:Superficial age hairline to centre base area andahairline repair to dog's front leg. To dog's neck area there is a firing crack. All as per images. Otherwisein excellentage commensurate condition.

A superbmid 19thc Staffordshire figure of a St Bernard with Royal Princess whichis very collectable.A fine addition to any Staffordshire collection.
