Crafted at the Tyche factory in Italy by Bruno Merli during the 1970\'s
Set of course after the famous painting by painted by the French artist Jacques-Louis David between 1801 and 1805. Initially commissioned by the king of Spain, the composition shows a strongly idealized view of the real crossing that Napoleon and his army made across the Alps through the Great St. Bernard Pass in May 1800.
Napoleon raises his hand to the sky, cloak blowing in the wind as his white stallion rears on his hind legs. A broken cannon lies destroyed on the floor.
What really makes this sculpture however is the amazing purpose built ornate four footed gilt solid metal stand. It really sets the piece of fantastically well.
So grand!
Stands 36cm tall (on the plinth) and 27cm wide
This figure has a restoration to Napoleon\'s raised hand. No other issues.
