This listing is for a superb English sterling silver frame with beveled mirror. The frame measures 23 by 25 ¼ inches or 58.5 by 64 cm.
The frame is lined with dark blue velvet, mounted on the frame is fancy open work sterling silver. The sterling is very fancy with scrolling leaf and vine designs with acanthus leaves and flowers. At the top of the silver is a cartouche with an engraved design. The mirror in the frame is beveled and it original to the piece.
The silver is hallmarked with four hallmarks. There is the makers mark “WC” for William Champion, the lion sterling standard mark, the leopard mark for London, and the dated letter “h” for the year 1903.
The condition is as follows; there is age appropriate darkening to the silver, and some of the silver tacks are missing. There is wear to the blue velvet and the easel back is present but not attached. Please see the many photographs.
