This sale is for a a wonderful large Chinese textile dating to the 18th century, probably Qianlong period. The silk textile is quite delicate and is most likely a fragment of a large piece that has been stiched within this wondeful blue flower silk border. The main textile depicts gilt dragons flying among clouds and flowers above waves at the bottom. The entire piece measures 50 x 14.75 inches (127x37.5cm). It displays very well as can be seen in the photos but does have some small tears and loose threads mainly in a line across the middle from where it was once folded. Also other small scattered loose/missing stitching. Just a wonderful and early piece of Chinese silk art work.
