Chamberlain Antiques is very pleased to offer their first sale of 2013 and it is an absolute beauty. This sale includes many important pieces of porcelain, bronze, jade, and more. Most worth well into the thousands of dollars. All items will start at $9.99 and will be offered with!!!!
This sale is for an important and large pair of Chinese porcelain covered jars. The jars are each hand painted around the exterior in Wucai enamels and underglaze blue with scenes of detailed dragons surrounded by clouds and flames. The detail in the art work is among the best you will find and done with great detail. The covers of the jars are painted with similar designs including rock croppings done in underglaze blue and accented with green and red enamels. The finials of each jars are finished in blue as well. The jars are large in size standing an impressive 20.25 inches ( 51.4 cm ) tall. One of the jars is in excellent condition with the exception of just one faint line that goes across the bottom of the jar. The other jar has some damage near the foot which has been pictured and a hairline in the body. The pair still displays beautifully as can be seen in the photos and are quite valuable. We are going to date the pair to the 20th century to be safe but they could definitely date earlier. We will let you be the judge from the photos. This pair sold a couple months ago for over $7,000.00 and has to be re-offered because of a nonpaying buyer.
